5 Days Kidepo True Wilderness Safari

Come for a 5 days best of Kidepo safari to the untouched African true wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park. This remote park in the north of Uganda is something out of the ordinary and the only one in Uganda where you can see both zebras and giraffes in the same place. DAY 1: TRANSFER TO LIRA.

Be picked up by your guide in the morning and start your 5 days Kidepo safari with the transfer to lira via Soroti district. Be prepared for a long day in the car, but with a lot to see as you enjoy the Ugandan landscape passing by the windows during this day of transfer, you shall have lunch en-route, reaching early evening in lira town for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: TRANSFER TO KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast drive through the landscape of vast plains and semi-arid savannah framed by jagged mountains and wooded hills to Kidepo valley national park. Kidepo is one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa, which you will discover during this 5 days Kidepo safari. The landscape throughout the park is studded with small hills, rocky outcrops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from all corners. Enjoy an evening game drive along the Narus River Valley for game Viewing and photography of Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly the roaming pride of lions

DAY 3: GAME DRIVE AND HOT SPRINGS

After an early breakfast we go for a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including brights gazelle, Aardwolf, greater kudu, and birds like Ostrich. In the afternoon have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items.

DAY 4: TRANSFER BACK THROUGH GULU

In the morning we drive out of the park as we hopefully spot some last animals. Travel through the remotest zones of Uganda, seeing the villages and thatched houses passing by the window. Spend the night in the town of Gulu.

DAY 5: TRANSFER TO KAMPALA VIA RHINO SANCTUARY

You leave Gulu, Uganda’s second biggest town, after breakfast. Along the way to Kampala take a light break at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to trek rhinos being reintroduced to Uganda. Before Kampala your guide will point out to the Popular Luwero triangle and continue through to the City for a drops off at the airport /hotel.
