Tour Overview

This 2day safari takes you to one of the smallest National Parks in Uganda– Lake Mburo National Park which is located approximately 240km (by road) west of Kampala. it takes you about 4 hours to drive to the Park. The park is home to over 68 mammal species such as buffaloes, bush pigs, leopards, and zebras as well as various bird species. It is famous for having large numbers of Zebras.

The park also has great sceneries starting from the rolling hills, the lush forests to the Savannah grasslands, and seasonal swamps to lakes. There are 5 lakes in the park where by you can engage in sport fishing where you can catch a large tilapia and other fish species, also large numbers of hippos occupy the lake. While in the park you might not miss out on seeing the leopards, hyenas, and side stripped jackals in the night.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Depart for Lake Mburo National Park, an evening Boat ride.

Have a morning breakfast at the hotel in Kampala after which you will be picked up by our driver guide, he will also brief you more about the 2 Days safari in Lake Mburo. You will later drive to towards the Western part of Uganda through towns like Lyantonde and Masaka. You will have a stopover at Mpambire drum makers’ village where you will observe and also get to know how the locals make the drums.

On arrival in the park, continue for lunch at any hotel or lodge of your choice as you proceed along the park trails you will spot various animals such as the elands, warthogs, buffaloes, zebras, and waterbucks. In the evening you will have a boat ride along the lake where you will have a great time having a chance to see different animals like the crocodiles, hippos, topis and birds like the fish eagles. Later return to the lodge for diner and an overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game drive

Have an early morning breakfast and start off the game drive through the Park, it takes 3 hours. This will give you an amazing glimpse of the Savannah and the 5 lakes. You will also see various animals such as buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, topis, hippos, also not forgetting the different bird species on the acacia trees and near the lake singing beautiful songs. After the game drive check out and head to Kampala, having a stopover in Masaka for lunch and also at the Equator for photos as you proceed to Kampala reaching in the afternoon.
