Drive to Jinja Source of the Nile

After an early breakfast preferably 6.30 am in the morning from Kampala to avoid the traffic jam. You will drive through Mabira forest, tea plantations, sugar plantations and colorful roadside fruit and vegetable markets.

Source of the Nile is a point where River Nile starts its long journey to Mediterranean Sea. By just a visit to the source of the Nile, you would have seen the source of the longest river on planet earth as it is separating from Lake Victoria to start its long journey northwards and also Victoria the largest fresh water lake in Africa. Take opportunity to visit Jinja city in Jinja District, Busoga sub-region, in the Eastern Region of Uganda. It is approximately 81 kilometers (50 mi), by road, east of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda.

It sits along the northern shores of Lake Victoria, near the source of the White Nile. The city sits at an average elevation of 1,204 metres (3,950 ft.) above sea level.
