Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

You will be met at the airport or hotel by the guide who will transfer you to Mountains of the moon hotel in Fort Portal. Lunch, Dinner and overnight will be at the same hotel.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park

 After breakfast you will report at the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre in Kibale National Park at 08.00 am for a briefing before chimp trekking. The forest is only accessible on foot and the walk will provide you with the opportunity to also see a variety of other primates and animals as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies, and other insects. After having found the chimps you will spend one hour with your closest relatives and witness their behaviors like grooming, swinging in the tree branches and mating. You will have a chance of taking pictures. After you will have a local lunch in one of the homestead around the park before you go for either a community walk or swamp walk after the walk you will return at your hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at your reserved lodge.

 Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning cup of coffee or tea, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth Park for an early morning game drive in Kasenyi plains.  Kasenyi plains boost of several wild animals whose chance of seeing them depends on your luck of the day. On a good day, you may spot big cats like lions and leopards hunting, buffaloes, elephants, several antelopes, warthogs and other small mammals then after have lunch and then drive to Mweya peninsular for a 2 hours’ boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the whole world, over 400 water bird species and is a place where most animals converge to drink water. You will have high chances of spotting hippos, birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and so much more. Later evening you will check in at bush lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After heavy Breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi for the gorilla tracking. Bwindi is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps.  Arrive in afternoon, check in to your hotel and relax.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi forest

Begin the day with breakfast ready for gorilla trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The Gorillas safari may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a village walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The Walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and is most informative, rewarding to the average visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways.

 Day 6: Return to Kampala or Entebbe Airport

After your breakfast, you will be driven back to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda on the last day of your tour. Since you will use the same route back, you will have another stop at the Equator crossing for photo moments, buying souvenirs or to just relax before continuing to Kampala/Entebbe.
